Specific Clan Claus Society related items will be made available for purchase. Many of these items require detailed artwork and some require approval before production. This process has already begun and as the items are available the membership will be notified along with the cost of each item. Below is a listing of the items currently being developed.
The Plaid Tartan Design is complete. The fabric has to be woven before we can submit our Tartan Design for Registration. Zellna Shaw’s Company The Tartan Lady located in Lakeland, GA. has been chosen to supply the tartan fabric. Yardage will be available in varying weights 10oz ~ 12oz ~ 13oz ~ 14oz and 16oz with a minimum weave of only 10 yards each, All weaves will be 60” wide. This is one of the main reasons this company was selected to supply our fabric needs. The 10 yard minimum affords the members a choice of weights. Prices vary accordingly and you will be quoted the current fabric price when you place your order. All yardages will be ordered through The Clan Claus Society and must be paid in full before they can be ordered.
There are many established tailoring companies located in the United States and abroad. Most of these companies offer Free Catalogs. A listing of these companies can be found on our “Links” page. Kilt prices vary according to style and size and the catalogs contain instructions for measuring. The catalogs also contain other related items such as jackets, skirts, jewelry, headwear, footwear, knives, sporrans, bagpipes, and other Celtic items.
The designs for The Clan Crest Badge is complete samples of the cloth badges are forthcoming. Zellna Shaw, owner of The Tartan Lady Company, has been making Cloth Badges, Parade Banners and Flags for the Scottish Clans, Highland Games, Pipe Bands, St. Andrews Societies and other organizations across the United States and abroad for many years. We have seen her parade banners first hand and without a doubt they are the best we have ever seen. We fully expect that she will be very instrumental in the development of products for The Clan Claus Society. Check out her website. As most Santa’s use brass or gold plated belt buckles and buttons The Clan Claus Society has decided not to use the traditional pewter Clan Crest Badges. The Clan Claus Society’s Badges will be made of zinc then gold plated. This alone will make our Clan Members stand out from the crowd at Highland Games or other Scottish Events. Add our tartan, white hair and beards and it will be hard not to notice us. The Clan Crest Badges can also be worn on Santa Hats or Santa Suits, Mrs. Claus’s Dresses or Elf costumes.
The metal Clan Crest Badges, Clan Belt Buckles and Clan Kilt Pins will be sold separately and will not be part of the membership package. Pricing is to be determined. The manufacturer requires a minimum order of 100 pieces for each item. The Clan Claus Society is in the process of purchasing the metal Clan Crest Badge’s. As our membership grows and funds are available, we will offer the Belt Buckles and Kilt Pins.
We have commissioned Mr. Don McKee to create The Clan Claus Society Crest Badge. In 1999, Mr. McKee was commissioned to produce the first piece of official British State Insignia ever made outside the UK, a Collar of Office for Scotland's Lord Lyon, King of Arms.
The Clan Claus Society will have sole ownership rights to all Clan Claus Society specific items; meaning that Mr. McKee cannot sell these items to anyone except The Clan Claus Society. Mr. McKee retains the copyrights of the same items; meaning that the Society cannot take the items that he has created for The Clan Claus Society to another foundry for reproduction at this time. Once again as our membership grows and the funds are available we will purchase the copyrights to all of The Clan Claus Society specific items.
There will be additional Clan Claus items for sale such as T-shirts, Polo Shirts, Clan Stickers, Coffee Cups, Can Coolers, Pens, Flags and Banners as funds become available for production.
You may not produce or sell any items that use The Clan Claus Society name, Crest or Logo without written authorization to do so.
